Today, we will elucidate on a wonderful woman celebrity in Media field - by whose very appearance on the TV channel -viewers go wild ...to  view her, to watch her, to hear her - what she speaks, reads and narrates...
Her scintillating modulated voices, talking eyes, beautiful facial gestures, rhythmic pure pronunciations of English Words makes us mesmerizing...

Let us discover , who she is ?

Friends, if I were a judge and the Jury Chief, having been delegated the power to choose and announce the " Best English News Reader & Anchor " in Pan India - I would  announce her name - before the big audiences, in a mega event ....

And the Winner is : Palki Sharma Upadhyay... Simply Palki or Palkisu...

Friends, let me narrate my true story behind liking Palki...

One year back, in April 2019, my son Anshuman asked me, " Dad...Did you know  Palki  Sharma ?". I replied nodding a NO...
Then, my son retorted back," You being in the Public Relations line for years, should have known her earlier."
I hit back & replied that there are many a Lady English News Readers and I remember them. And went on telling ...the ladies celebrities names - Salma Sultan, Geetanjali Aiyer, Avinash Kaur Sarin, Sarala Maheswari, Neethi Ravindran,  Minu Talwar , Rini Khanna, Neelam Sharma, Barkha Dutt and so on...

From that very day, I started watching Palkisu on WION in the Gravitas program.
Till date, we in the family  join for the dinner on the dining table at 10.30 PM.
Come 11PM... while taking dinner, we all watch n witness the Gravitas program,  hosted by Palkisu regularly.
So was the story, my son Anshuman introduced me with Palkisu on WION...

Yes, Friends..what is WION all about?
WION stands for : World Is One News. We simply call it World is one.

WION is a TV channel owned by the Essel Groups Flagship  company - the Zee Media Corporation Ltd. Media personalities like Rohit Gandhi, Sudhir Chaudhary, Sanket Upadhyay, Palki Sharma are all associated with WION.

Let us briefly read the bio data of  Palki Sharma. She was born on 29th May, 1982 in Pilani,Rajasthan. Palki's home town is Jaipur, Rajasthan.
After completion of  her Master's Degree in Journalism & Mass Communication in Delhi, she joined Door Darshan in 2002.
In 2004 - she worked with the Hindustan Times as a Staff Writer. Then, she worked for CNN-IBN for eleven years.
In 2007, Palki was awarded as the Best English News Reader.
At present, Palki Sharma Upadhyay is the Executive Editor of WION TV channel and hosts the popular  prime time program " Gravitas" at 9pm & the repeat program at 11pm.

Yes, Friends... Palkisu is a dynamic designer too. She is a great lover of Sarees. "Reyva" is her famous Saree Brand, whom she loves most.

You  all know the Eye Winking Queen - Priya Prakash Varrier , who made sensations world wide by winking her eye in 2018.
Priya became famous over night across the Globe, by her natural eye winking , which was liked n loved by all.
Priya's eye catching, eye soothing winking won the eyes & hearts of millions of people....
Friends...we appreciate her good eyes, bestowed by the Divine Almighty...
Yes, Friends... I have composed a Prose-Poetry in my Mother tounge Odia -"Akhire Akhire"...

 Friends, Today is the most pious day, the Mother's Day.
We in India, USA, Canada, Belgium, Bhutan, Bangaladesh, Pakistan, Finland, Hong Kong, Iceland, Japan and other countries world over celebrate Mother's Day on 2nd Sunday of May , every year. In some other countries, such as Angola, Hungary, Romania, Spain- Mother's Day is observed on First Sunday of May annually.
Other countries, such as Afghanistan, Armenia, Russia do not celebrate a special Mother's Day ; these countries observe honouring women on 8th March, annually -
the International Women's Day.
Going back to the history of observances of Mother's Day, it dates back to 1600AD, when the officials and servants of Royal Families of England went on vacation to their villages and native places to meet their mothers , during the months of March to May, every year. It was also called " Mothering Sunday".
The first official Mother's Day was celebrated at St. Andrew's Methodist Church in Grafton, West Virginia on 10 th May, 1908 at the arduous initiatives of Anna Jarvis in America.

     The American activist Anna Jarvis is regarded as the founder of Mother's Day in USA.  On this Mother's Day, people honour their Mothers, motherhood and maternal 

bonds.                                                                 

      In Hindu traditions, Mother's Day is celebrated as "Mata Tirtha Aunshi",  i.e. Mother Pilgrimage Fortnight. It is being observed in Nepal every year on Baishakh Amavasya. The festival of " Ullambana" is celebrated as Mother's Day in Buddhist Communities. There is no specific day marked for Mother's Day in Islam. However, the Quran teaches that the children should give priority to loving their Mothers.  In Churches, the Christians pray Mother virgin Mary.   So, Friends! such few are  the events of celebration of Mother's Day in different faiths in different ways in different countries.                                          

   Yes, Friends! while browsing the net in           patch.com ,  I came across  these     wonderful  lines narrating the virtues of Mother .

    H- Her Heart of purest gold              

        E -  Eyes of her , with love light            

R - Right & Right, she will shining always be ... 

Friends,we know the deep love, likingness, cares, nourishments of Maa Yashoda for Sri Krishna, Maa Kausalya for Sri Rama, Maa Seeta for Lav & Kusha and so on.

Fie ! Corona on you , Fie!! Corona to you ,
You are the non-sense, Enemy No.One,
 You are the super spreading virus,
Evilest Epidemic - for the Humanity on the Earth ,
We will never forget & forgive you.

Alas! Corona...Alas!! Alas!!
 You have affected crores of lives across the Globe,
Millions innocent people have died their pre-mature deaths...
What a mega plight, what  sordid sights ?
Cruel, Cruelling, Devastating, Destroyed Environment...

Trump remarked, "Corona, you are the invisible Enemy No.1,
And also added- " China has created the Corona,bio weapon in the Lab."
 Xi Jinping retorted ," China has not not created the virus Corona; it has affected our peoples too".

India PM- Modijee took to tasks...
Proclaimed Lock down, Shutdown- many a measures, many a guide lines,
 For checking, controlling the Corona Chain...

Corona Virus Versus Corona Warriors ,

Still the fightings going on...Pan India...

Sunday thrills,treats, tastes,toasts with leisurely readings, food,funs, frolics, colourful entertainments, events, happy happenings around and a lot more... Sunday is Special... Sunday is Special  to all of us .... world wide- across  the Globe...
Sunday is a day to sit back and relax at the weekend , leisurely reading Sunday Newspapers & more importantly the supplement Sunday Magazine , doing house hold chores, visiting temples, churches, mosques etc., going to the Malls for marketing , visiting theatres, cinema halls, parks for amusements and rejoices...

 Sunday Newspapers & its supplements, the Sunday Magazine attracts all of us alike, be it in English, Hindi , Odia or any other vernacular languages.
Friends - I have been a regular reader of the New Indian Express , Hindu, TOI,Orissa Post in English languages.
Today , we will focus on the New Indian Express(TNIE)'s Sunday Magazine and its colourful contents.

The Magazine generally consists of 12 spread pages , consisting of  the Lead pages- followed by Think, Engage,Astrogaze, Experience, Flaunt , Read, Watch, Believe , Buffet, Food, Books, Wellness ,Art & Culture,Focus etc.
The Sunday Magazine smells very very fresh -   the contents filled with recent burning topics analysis , opinions , feedbacks -

Voices of the People, eminent authors articles with illustrations, statistics , data,recepies of new varieties of food, new shopping collection , Books n their reviews, wellness, entertainment etc.
The Sunday Magazine throws light on various topics of interests .It elucidates the given topic very vividly, making the matter more vibrant and happy continuous readings.

I appreciate the voices of Prof.  Pushpesh Pant, Gautam Chintamani, Damayanti Biswas, Tom Jose; on cuisine -  MadhulikaDas and others, to cite a few. I too read n appreciate the " Believe " page 's  Spiritology corner by Sadhguru,  Ammaspeak by Mata Amritanandamayi ,Gita Jnana by Sharanya Chaitanya , Yoga  topics by Grand Master Akshar etc.

So, Friends - we like, love the Sunday Magazine to learn many matters that matters us , under this Globe.

Yes, Friends... I never sell  my Sunday Magazines at the waste Paper Store or godown . I have a good collections of the SMs with me till now...as a very precious possession. Time permitting, at my leisure times , I get engaged n engrossed in reading these valuable papers...the Sunday Magazine...

Friends! as you all are aware that we celebrate International Labour Day, other wise called as the International Workers Day on 1st May annually. We also simply call it May Day . It's a celebration of the labourers & the working classes world wide.
Way back on 1st May, 1886 labourers assembled in a strike at Haymarket in Chicago city of America, demanding an eight -hour work in a day. It was reported that on 3rd May, 1886 - six to eight labourers were killed in police firing.
Three years later ,in 1889- a French Socialist Party decided to celebrate 1st May as the International Labour Day to commomerate the innocent killings of labourers in Chicago city and to honour the Labour Movement.
Thus began the celebration of International Labour Day from 1st May 1890 onwards world wide; but surprisingly USA, Canada celebrate Labour Day annually on the first Monday of September.
Coming down to our own country India, the first Labour Day was celebrated on First May ,1923 in Madras by the Labour Kisan Party of Hindustan.

Let us now focus on Mahatma Gandhi's deeds and sayings on Labour matters. Gandhiji was too a labour leader during his stay in South Africa and had also organised labour unions in Ahmedabad Textile Mills.
 Gandhiji had always been emphasizing on dignity of  labour & labourers.
We quote his sayings - "If everybody lives by the sweat of his brow, the earth will become a paradise".
As of now, it has been estimated that in India, around 48crores labourers are there, out of which only 8 crores belong to the organised sectors & the rest 40 crores to the unorganised sectors , deprived of the basic needs of livelihoods.

In recent months ,due to the Lockdown situations, arising out of COVID-19 , the woes of  labourers have been multiplied in many ways. The labourers  do not not get any work to do ; food to eat....
The pandemic Corona situations have aggravated the plights of the working class people , very very severely. Corona has caused abysmal loss to the working class people, who are the real work force in nation building. They really work for Nation's better tomorrows....

Government of India and the State Governments have already taken some relief measures for the welfare of labourers, but more should come for the welfare of labourers.

Yes, Friends - a nice saying - " Work like a Labourer , Enjoy like a Prince".
